Collecting Data from Rwanda

On 10th February is the day I left Japan for going to Rwanda after almost one year leaving in Japan. The travel was good and when I arrived to Rwanda my family came to welcoming back to my Country as well as my family. It was wonderful time to see again my family especially my youngest lady who was very Young when I left home (10 months). She didn’t even recognize her mom which chocked me a little bit .I was very happy to see my family as well as my missed country. Because it was not time for holiday of course I had to prepare the needed to visit schools as main target of my trip. For the first week I have to report to JICA, to my work and to find research permit from Ministry of Education and contact the District Education Office as well as Sector Education Office in order to away for that and help me to select the schools according to their placement, performance and to introduce myself before starting my work. It was difficult time because to find them as I prepared failed but I managed to do what I wanted and find almost hundred percent of results needed. Another thing I had experienced is how our cities are developed so quickly with new buildings and is very clean. On 23rd March I left home for coming back to continue my studies one of my difficult time was to leave the children but I really thank God for helping in those challenges we had passing through. Now is time for analyzing the data and write the results after interpretation of the results which I hope with the help and advice from formal students I will finish well and on time.

Winter.

Now is my first time to experience this cold time. It is too cold but still we survive and are good experience in our life to share in our family like snowing and the use more than 3 cots at the same time for covering.

So I wish you to enjoy this time which is hard for me but wish to pass well. It will be also my first time to start New Year outside my country and far from my family so I would like to wish you Happy New Year 2013. I’m wondering how I will celebrate this Christmas day and New Year!!! This is my last time for writing this blog in this year so I first of all thank everyone who helps me in my studies in my life in this Country and thank You for your kindness and different advices. God bless and help you to start New Year in peace and prosperity in whatever you plan to do and success in all. At the end of this year it's a time for looking back on 2012 and taking a moment to consider some of our achievements and struggles in order to enjoy and improve our study. This New Year let take time for looking ahead, for thinking about our research, and for focusing on making better improvement than the one we are leaving behind. Happy New Year again and I wish all of us the Successes in this coming Year of 2013

Sake Festival

Sake Festival is one of the biggest festivals in Saijo I attend. I went to the festival and I was surprised because it was my first time to see the many people in Saijo Town and it was like amazing time and known some Japanese Culture and food because there was a lot of foods unfortunately no Japanese for explaining to every events.SO first we walk around the Sake industry where we had one of JICA Staff explaining some big events about SAKE. One which surprised me again is natural water using for making Sake and I just drink at that water. It was amazing time and we did parade with some international and Japanese students from Hiroshima and Primary students with drums and walking jumping and said (Sore: no meaning).
Many Japanese from different companies and journals write about that event and many pictures and saying it was international festival.
Time was short for us to walk around free because after parade I was very tide and went back home but I really appreciated that particular time. If someone knows more than me please you can explain more to me.Like the main activities in those following pictures and dancing.

Some dancing group was warming that great day in Saijo

Training before starting parade.

Rwandan Food.

In Rwanda we have the traditional way of preparing the food and traditional is boiling the beans, sweet potatoes and some local food like cassava, cassava leaves, green bananas and according to some areas there are some areas which also have potatoes, rice, cones, peanuts, and some fruits like papayas, pineapples, mangoes, and some ingredients. In our culture is not allowed to ask someone (especially elders people only for the children is allowed) what are you eating unless for the close friends, But if you want to visit some friends you can tell them what you like in order to prepare for you. And traditional we use the hands when we ate but now we use the folks and spoons but traditional we used the hands. The tropical fruits of Africa are very popular among the Rwandan people. Bananas, Mangoes, Pineapples are a part of the Rwandan food culture.
The Rwanda food is very simple with main dishes like rice noodles that are taken with boiled potatoes and plaintains, cassava and many more. The Rwanda food does not consist of too many spices. Another normal sauce was the peanut sauce (we put in it some spices like onion, tomatoes, or calottes and some vegetables if you want)! Also, had lots of beans, cassava, and bananas! A lots of fresh fruit (oranges, papayas, pineapple! bananas, passion fruit, and mangoes) In town in the little shops, we would have snacks of samosas (meat filled triangles of fried dough), amendaze, (kind of like a thick doughnout) and bruschetta, Bruschettes (grilled meat or fish on a stick, kind of like a shish-kabob without the veggies) is sold in most restaurants and Breakfast: eggs, toast with peanut butter or jam and pineapple or bananas; lunch: rice or noodles with beans or peas, french fries and plaintains with fruit for dessert; dinner: grilled fish with french fries or rice with beans. Enjoy our fresh and natural food.
