In Rwanda we have the traditional way of preparing the food and traditional is boiling the beans, sweet potatoes and some local food like cassava, cassava leaves, green bananas and according to some areas there are some areas which also have potatoes, rice, cones, peanuts, and some fruits like papayas, pineapples, mangoes, and some ingredients. In our culture is not allowed to ask someone (especially elders people only for the children is allowed) what are you eating unless for the close friends, But if you want to visit some friends you can tell them what you like in order to prepare for you. And traditional we use the hands when we ate but now we use the folks and spoons but traditional we used the hands. The tropical fruits of Africa are very popular among the Rwandan people. Bananas, Mangoes, Pineapples are a part of the Rwandan food culture.
The Rwanda food is very simple with main dishes like rice noodles that are taken with boiled potatoes and plaintains, cassava and many more. The Rwanda food does not consist of too many spices. Another normal sauce was the peanut sauce (we put in it some spices like onion, tomatoes, or calottes and some vegetables if you want)! Also, had lots of beans, cassava, and bananas! A lots of fresh fruit (oranges, papayas, pineapple! bananas, passion fruit, and mangoes) In town in the little shops, we would have snacks of samosas (meat filled triangles of fried dough), amendaze, (kind of like a thick doughnout) and bruschetta, Bruschettes (grilled meat or fish on a stick, kind of like a shish-kabob without the veggies) is sold in most restaurants and Breakfast: eggs, toast with peanut butter or jam and pineapple or bananas; lunch: rice or noodles with beans or peas, french fries and plaintains with fruit for dessert; dinner: grilled fish with french fries or rice with beans.
